This event is available to all teachers currently participating in AMSI’s Outreach program in the Geelong region.
What is Problem Solving and Why is it Important?
This afternoon will be broken up into 2 parts. The first part will be an examination of the research and practice of problem solving as it pertains to the mathematics classroom.
The second part will be an opportunity for teachers to explore example problems and critique them. These examples will be drawn from a variety of sources. Example questions will also be representative of what can be used at different year levels and abilities.
Teachers are encouraged to bring along a problem solving task that they have used before to share with the group.
